About Me Pic (SOLO)

Hello there!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

I put up this page to share my passion for ISO 9001.

Is there such a thing?

Yes, there is.

Actually, I was also surprised by how and why I became passionate about ISO 9001.

But first, let me introduce a little bit of me.

I’m Franklin Vios. I am a certified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2004. But in this page, I want to focus only on ISO 9001.

My “relationship” with ISO started with curiosity.

When I first heard about it in our company, I volunteered myself to join the internal auditing team. I was curious what they were up to.

That was 10 years ago when I was still new in the company. As practiced in the company, the newest member of a department always got grilled during the audit as auditee. I wanted to be more than that. I wanted to experience what it was like to grill during an audit. I thought it would be fun grilling someone!

After some time, however, I got a bit frustrated with how ISO was implemented.

I felt that only a few people saw the benefit of ISO in the company. For others, it was just an added task, especially during the audit. It was just for certification and documentation. So, I took a year off as an auditor. Though during that time, I was still sent out to defend our department during an audit. So, technically I wasn’t 100% ISO-free. 🙂

Apparently, I was transferred to the Management Systems Department that handles the ISO implementation. I didn’t like it at first. But as a go-getter, I gave myself a try to keep the job for a year.

Before I knew it, I was already doing ISO full time for 5 straight years.

All in all, I have 10 years of experience with ISO.

I may transfer to another non-ISO related department but I bring my experience and lessons doing ISO with me wherever I go.

I don’t want those 10 years to be wasted. I don’t want to forget the ISO lessons just because I got busy doing something else.

My wife and I had even considered naming our daughter ISO. 🙂

I have 10 years of experience in ISO 9001, from version 2008 to version 2015. But I don’t claim myself as an expert of ISO 9001. In fact, I still consider myself a beginner because I know that there is so much to learn. So, in this page, I will only share what I know based on my experience.

But one thing I can be proud of is that my experience with ISO 9001 has developed my skill in simplifying the abstract concept into something that is easily understood by anyone.

I’m sure you would agree with me that the ISO 9001 standard is not a fun book to read.

You know what, I’ve learned to enjoy reading it. Especially when insomnia hits me!

That is why when I conduct a training or a brief orientation of ISO 9001, I make it a point that it’s fun and easily digestible by the audience.

In this page, I will pour out everything that I know about ISO 9001 so that it will be worth your time visiting here. I promise to avoid causing your nose to bleed.

I put up this blog not to impress you or anyone.
